Construction of 16 stalled Supertech projects lagging, NCLAT seeks status report from NBCC

Construction work across 16 stalled Supertech projects has come under scrutiny after the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) raised concerns over slow progress. The tribunal has asked the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), which is acting as the project management consultant, to submit a detailed status report.

NCLAT has also directed the court-appointed Apex Court Committee to provide an update on the steps taken so far. Both developments are significant for thousands of homebuyers awaiting possession of homes in stalled Supertech projects.

The issue highlights the continuing challenges involved in completing delayed real estate projects in Noida and other parts of the NCR. According to the report, around 14,000 homes out of nearly 50,000 homes linked to these projects are part of the broader construction situation being monitored.

For affected buyers, the latest NCLAT intervention could increase accountability and put greater focus on construction timelines, project execution and delivery.

The status report from NBCC is expected to give the tribunal a clearer picture of the progress and remaining work in these stalled projects.
