After worms wriggle from taps, Ganga water back in Supernova

The Noida Authority has restored Ganga water supply to Supertech Supernova in Sector 94 after residents reported receiving yellowish-black, foul-smelling water containing worms. The residents had reportedly faced the water-quality issue for around two weeks.

The Authority has also served a notice on the developer seeking payment of ₹64.01 lakh in pending dues. According to the Authority, Ganga water services at Supernova had been disrupted nearly two years ago following the insolvency of the builder.

Residents said that water pressure remained low even after the supply was restored, with officials checking whether there was a blockage in the pipeline. The Authority said that out of 582 flats in the project, water connections had been obtained for only 100 flats. Connections for the remaining flats are expected after outstanding dues are cleared.

Supernova is a large mixed-use development spread across around 70,000 sq m in Sector 94. The project includes residential and commercial components, while its development has also been affected by insolvency proceedings.

The incident highlights the importance of civic infrastructure and essential services in residential projects. For homebuyers, access to reliable water, electricity, sewage and other basic services is an important part of evaluating a property beyond its location and amenities.
