A section of Noida's elevated road has been closed after another cave-in near Sector 33, raising concerns about road safety and infrastructure maintenance. The incident occurred near ISKCON Temple and prompted the Noida Authority to shut the carriageway connecting Sector 61 towards Sector 18.
According to The Times of India, the damaged section measured approximately 2 × 2 feet when the incident was initially reported. The affected area subsequently widened, leading officials to restrict traffic and begin repair work. Commuters have been diverted to Maharaja Agrasen Marg, an alternative route that has experienced congestion.
The Noida Authority has initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the damage and whether it is connected to an earlier cave-in reported on 15 September. Officials have also planned a technical safety assessment involving IIT Delhi, according to the report.
The elevated road is an important route connecting several sectors of Noida and is also used by commuters travelling between Noida and Delhi. Its closure may affect daily travel times, particularly during peak hours.
Residents and commuters should follow official traffic advisories, allow additional travel time and use designated alternative routes until the affected carriageway reopens. The cause of the repeated damage should be established through technical inspection before conclusions are drawn about construction quality or structural safety.
