Legal hurdles & fund crunch delaying stalled Supertech projects

The completion of several stalled Supertech housing projects in Noida and Greater Noida continues to face challenges, with legal hurdles and funding constraints affecting construction progress. NBCC has highlighted these issues while working on the completion of 16 stalled Supertech projects covering around 50,000 flats.

A number of these projects are located across Noida and Greater Noida, making the issue particularly important for thousands of homebuyers waiting for possession. The stalled developments include projects where construction has remained incomplete for years, leaving buyers concerned about delivery timelines and financial commitments.

One of the key issues relates to the availability and use of project funds under regulatory requirements. NBCC had sought relief concerning provisions under RERA, but its request was not accepted by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). The matter is now expected to be considered by the Supreme Court on September 24.

The developments highlight the complicated process involved in reviving large stalled housing projects. For affected buyers, the outcome of the legal proceedings could have a direct impact on construction and possession timelines.
