YEIDA acquires the first portion of the land parcel for Jewar Airport

Gautam Buddh Nagar Administration has acquired the first parcel of land for the much-awaited Jewar International airport. About 80-hectare farmland has been acquired by the administration that has been handed over to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The upcoming Greenfield Noida International Airport at Jewar has to be built in different phases. For the development of the first phase, a total of 1,235 hectares of land is further needed to be acquired by the authority.

The administration has already released Rs 1920 Crore towards attaining the land in areas that include Ranhera, Parohi, Kishorepur, Rohi, Banwariwas, and Dayantpur.

According to the officials, the first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2023 which is anticipated to have six to eight runways. This is touted to be the second-largest airport of Delhi NCR, after the Indira Gandhi International Airport, sprawling over 5000 hectares with an estimated cost of Rs 15,754 Crore.
