for the expansion of the aqua line to Greater Noida West. Ritu Maheshwari,
Managing Director, NMRC [Noida Metro Rail Corporation] informed about the development
and the construction work will begin within three months from now.
- The Noida Metro Rail Corporation is conducting the
geotechnical investigation at Greno West, Kisan Chowk and tenders will be
invited for bid once the soil testing is completed by the authority, PD
Upadhyay, Executive Director, NMRC said.
- Year 2023 is the proposed completion year for aqua
line expansion to Greater Noida West. The route will be developed in a
phase-wise manner. In Phase-1, NMRC will build five stations at Sector 122,
Sector 123, Greater Noida Sector 4, Eco Tech and Greater Noida 2. In Phase-2,
the aqua line metro route will be expanded to Greater Noida Sector 3, Sector
10, Sector 12 and Knowledge Park V.
- This metro line extension is 14.95 Km long and is
planned to have nine metro stations that will make commutation easy for the
residents of Gaur City and Noida Extension.
- The Aqua line was dedicated to the citizen on 25th
January this year by Yogi Adityanath, CM, Uttar Pradesh and Hardeep Singh Puri,
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs. This metro route construction
incurred Rs. 5,503 Crores and has 21 stations on the stretch of 29.7 kms.
- The minimum fare per ride on the extended aqua line
will be Rs. 9 and the maximum fare will cost Rs. 50. The commuters can buy QR-
coded paper tickets or smart cards to travel on the aqua line but these tickets
and cards cannot be used for the connecting journey on the blue line metro managed
by DMRC i.e. the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
