Noida: The route of pod taxis running between the sectors of Yamuna area from Noida International Airport will be changed on Tuesday. Its new DPR has been prepared on Monday. The pod taxi will run from the airport to Sector 20-21 of Yamuna Authority. A new DPR has been prepared for the scheme to run Pod Taxi. Now 12 km track will be ready and there will be 12 stations. About Rs 810 crore will be spent on this project.
However, this track was to be built up to 14.6 km earlier and 17 stations were to be built. Also Rs 864 crore was to be spent. Now once again on Tuesday, the new DPR will be stamped on Tuesday. This project of pod taxi has been targeted to be implemented by January 2024.
These taxis will run at a speed of 15 to 40 kmph. For traveling in a pod taxi, you will have to pay eight rupees per km. Along with this, eight people will be able to travel in a taxi by sitting and 13 people standing. Pod taxis will be available every half hour.
A target has been set to run five taxis in the first phase. Once the operation starts, UP will become the first state in the country to run pod taxis. The weight of a pod taxi carrying up to 500 kg at a time will be 820 kg. It can be run in front of small streets, hospital, mall, hotel, office gate. This is a small battery operated car. It will be a computer operated taxi.
