Over the years, more and more women have been making their investments in the real estate market on their own.
New Delhi: Before, the real estate market was dominated mainly by men. Now, more women are getting into the business, becoming more essential homebuying people. Over the years, more and more women have been making their investments in the real estate market on their own.
Sixty-four per cent of women who took the Anarock Consumer Sentiment Survey said that real estate is now their favourite way to invest money. It was 62% in the last survey (H2 2020) and 57% in the survey before Covid. This is how it was: (H2 2019).
41% of women who responded to the survey said they wanted 3BHKs, followed by 36% of women who wanted 2BHKs, and 11% of women who said they wanted 4BHKs or bigger.
‘Outside of the city, people like to live there the most.’
There has also been a rise in the number of women looking at real estate as an investment. Over 38% of women who took part in the survey said they wanted to live outside the city, while 30% said they wanted to live inside the city. Only 11% of people want to live in the middle of the cities.
In budget categories, at least 67% of women buy homes in the middle and upper ranges (properties priced Rs 45 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore). About 33% want to buy a home that costs between $90,000 and $1.5 million. That’s followed by 33% who want a home that costs between $450,00 and $900,00. There has also been a slight rise in the demand for ultra-luxury properties that cost more than Rs 2.5 crore, from 5% in the H2 2020 survey to 7% in the H2 2021 edition.
According to a Realtor Group, “Women have always been an important part of Indian families’ homebuying process, but the trend of women as independent buyers and investors with different choices is a new one.”
