Noida Metro Aqua line connecting Noida and Greater Noida is soon planning to further extend its corridor to Knowledge Park 5. This 29.7 km long metro line is anticipated to benefit more than three lakh population that will fall along its stretch. This metro line will be completed in two phases; in Phase 1 the extension will take place from Noida sector 51 till Greater Noida sector 2, while in the second phase the line will be extended from sector 2 till Knowledge Park 5.
The Uttar Pradesh Government will give a green signal for the first phase either in the first week of November or December 2019. As per the reports, a sum of ₹ 1064 Crore will be spent on the construction of the first phase. Moreover, NMRC has recognized three more phases for the completion of the extension line. These future phases are from Noida sector 71 till Knowledge Park 5 and from Botanical Garden till depot station to Bodaki.
People who have their homes in and around Noida Extension rely on their private vehicle or private cab facility for commutation due to a lack of basic public transport facilities around this area. The extension of this metro line will turn out to be a big relief for the people as it will improve the travel time for daily commuters who have their offices located in Noida.
